A surprisingly large number of companies continue to rely on non-integrated spreadsheet based systems for their planning, budgeting and forecasting activities. Prone to manual transcription errors and completely unauditable, this over reliance on spreadsheets is the primary cause for a disconnect between business strategy and operations.

The role of the finance department is rapidly changing. External stakeholders such as regulators and investors demand greater fiscal transparency and accountability. Vision Overview:

The Vision Suite is a unique suite of management reporting and Business Intelligence software providing reporting, analytical processing, scheduling and alerting. Vision's Analysis and Reporting functions are accessed within Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, or via Vision’s own powerful desktop application.

Web browser users can interact directly with Vision queries and reports, live against the underlying data either via an HTML web page, or through a portal interface such as Microsoft SharePoint.

Vision Word

Vision Word is an intelligent, intuitive addition to the capabilities of Microsoft Word, providing fast and adaptive ways to extract data from your data source into Microsoft Word documents.

Vision Word provides extensive report writing capability, for the production of statutory as well as management reports and memorandums. Microsoft Word is one of the most commonly used applications for creating critical documents such as reports, letters and business plans. Vision Word makes it easier to use the existing and familiar functionality of Word to produce professional business reports.

Dynamic Options

Various output options are available including HTML, e-mail or print and a comprehensive Document Rules component to allow utmost flexibility in defining report subtotalling and calculation logic. Standard reports created in Word normally contain static information, using Vision Word reports can be refreshed to view the most current data available in the database.

Vision Mail Merge

Merge is an extension of Microsoft Word's Mail Merge capabilities. Vision Alert

With Vision Alert, any Vision report can be processed on a time, event or exception driven basis with distribution via e-mail, web or file system. Alerts can be created in any report to act as triggers for push style reporting. For example, you could automate the running of Vision workbook and drill path extractions, which are then output in HTML format, and e-mailed to the desired users.

Tasks

Vision Alert allows any number of Tasks to be created that can contain interdependent Processes. If a financial tolerance is exceeded, for example, an Alert is triggered that automatically generates one or more predetermined responses such as printing a report, distributing the report via e-mail, outputting in either HTML or to a Microsoft Excel file, or even to execute designated operating system commands.
